Community Members
Community members pay the rate of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads and have access to facilities of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads and the Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA.
For households making less than $60,000 annually, we have an optional monthly dues scale that you may want to take advantage of. YMCA Membership FOR ALL has an affordable rate based on your family's annual household income.
Once you complete the simple membership application, you're on your way to becoming our newest member. If your financial situation is more complicated than that, ask about the YMCA's Guardian Program.
Facility Membership
If you live in an area served by the Greater West Point, Mathews, Middlesex, or Richmond County Family YMCAs, you may purchase a membership that entitles you to use the one facility where you join and maintain your membership. Download a rate flyer.
Guardian Program
Because our mission is to serve ALL people, the YMCA strives to make scholarships available to any person who wants to participate in membership, programs or services and needs financial assistance to do so. Applying for the Guardian Program is completely confidential. Scholarships are based on an applicant's income. Please ask how the Guardian Program can assist you or your family. For more information, click here. Guardian Members receive the same privileges as any member and pay no Joining Fee.
Child Watch and Youth Watch
With your family membership at the YMCA, you are entitled to free Child Watch (Ages 6 weeks to 5 years) and Youth Watch (Ages 6 to 12 years) services while you are at the Y participating in our programs. Our qualified staff and volunteers provide a safe and fun atmosphere for your child with age-appropriate toys, games and activities and even homework time for school-aged kids. Parents are required to sign the child in/out and to fill out an information form to be kept on file. Hours vary by YMCA location.
Please pick up a schedule at each branch: Available at Hampton, Luter, Mathews, Newport News, Northern Neck, Richmond County, Victory
Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
